Bradman's 100th Century Ball

Bradman's 100th Century Ball On the 15th November 1947 Don Bradman scored his 100th century in first class cricket. He remains the first and only Australian to achieve this milestone.

The match was an Australian XI v India and was played at the Sydney Cricket Ground. The ball used during the innings was souvenired by match umpire George Borwick who knew Bradman well having regularly umpired first class and Test matches in which he played from the early 1930s.

At the conclusion of the match Borwick sought to present Bradman with the ball but he refused, signing the ball instead and insisting that Borwick keep it.

Recently, the ball was donated to the Museum by David Borwick and the Borwick family.
